Im new!
Hello everyone out here thus far.... i got the link from another forum that I visit. Im currently on Atkins and after 4 days I can say I ve been on it for four months!!! I ve lost a total of 30 pounds and I feel great.
As far as exercise, I started exercising immediately when I started Atkins. It started out walking 40 minutes and now im up to walking and running on a treadmill anywhere from 6-9 kilos on a given day. I ve been doing squats every other day and this abs machine that I think worked betteer lol for my arms than my abs.
I know nothing about weights and am very confused as to how to start without machinery and the use of a gym. There is so much conflicting info out there that Im not sure how to start and what to start and what is best for a beginner. Im about 20 pounds from my target weight which is on the heavier side for my height but i didnt even think i could get down to this weight so maybe i could be lighter than my target weight I just dont know.

Hello. This is a brand new domain and we are slowly getting folks over here. I had lost 40 pounds and still looked flabby then I started weightlifting and it totally changed the way my body looks. May I ask, are you a woman or a man? I know of two great books to help guide you in the absence of a trainer but one is more female oriented.
If you can afford a trainer, that's really the best route because they can check your form and teach you so you never hurt yourself by doing a lift incorrectly.
I suggest starting light and concentrate on your form. If you have ever done pilates, use your core tightening and pilates neutral position when you lift, making sure to tighten your core when exerting.
Glad to see you found this site.
